I actually forgot to screenshot the line of dialogue that made me want to write this post, but then I found out that this type of thing is a common occurrence. So, you’d think that his everyday dialogue would reflect this…īut no. His 14-heart event is literally the player and Marnie (his aunt) worrying about him as they see him exit the saloon because of his alcoholism. He literally has to get his stomach pumped and he goes to a specialised councillor due to his poor mental health. The only time you get this with Shane is during his heart events. With the other characters, you get a real sense of them beginning to trust you, taking a liking to you, all that good stuff.

You’re a stranger to them, at the end of the day. This makes the difference between him being hostile towards you and him being nice to you very sudden. Even as you gain hearts with him, his attitude towards you doesn’t immediately change. He usually asks why you are talking to him or just tells you to go away. You can usually find Shane at the saloon most nights. So, when you first move into Stardew Valley, you meet all the villagers. Of course, I decided I would make him like me and now I’m married to him. Shane is a datable character who is… not the nicest to you when you first move in. TL DR- Shane's spouse room is a let down after his story line.Hey, Gamers! So, this week we will be talking about Stardew Valley, focusing mainly on Shane. I'm curious to know if anyone actually likes his spouse room? With his room like this, it feels like nothing happened after everything you go through with him. You fall for Shane because you're there for/with him when it comes to overcoming his ailments and struggles. Why could that not be incorporated instead of something that he is trying to move past. I understand that unlike the other marriage candidates he doesn't have a big background story line for his ambitions in life, but his story line shows us he's starting to enjoy raising animals. After his story line that pulled me in and the things he has to face, his room looking this way is a big let down. There's a sticky floor from a spilled (what I assume is a beer) can, foot prints, six packs lying around, a fridge (I assume for his beer), and a dingy carpet. I was super excited to go see his room, and my heart dropped. I decided to marry him, and after waiting awhile from some weird glitch (proposed in mid fall, I'm in early winter and just woke up to our wedding) he's finally moved in. I was expecting to go for Alex, but after wanting blue chickens I quickly raised my heart level with Shane, and really liked his story. I'm currently on one of my many playthroughs, and decided to go for one of the bachelors this time (I've always done bachelorette games in the past).
